The star has handed over the complete sum of his £25,000 honor winnings to the MVT, which operates to preserve the United Kingdom's small live music spots.
Fender was awarded the prize on October 16 as his latest record People Watching was chosen as the outstanding release of the last 12 months.
Fender has chosen to hand the money over to the trust, in appreciation of the essential function small stages played in his early career.
"I personally couldn't be pursuing my current career if it weren't for all the performances I did around the region, and beyond, when I was starting out," remarked Sam Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are in difficulty."
From early 2023 onward, more than 150 of these spaces have permanently closed – approximately 16% of the whole industry in the UK.
Recently, well-known musicians such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all backed the MVT in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by including a small levy to their ticket costs, which benefits smaller concert halls.
Sam Fender also joined in, raising more than £100,000 on his recent tour to support thirty-eight grassroots venues across Britain.
The donation assisted locations that were dealing with possible closure due to issues caused by flooding, fires and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, court cases and noise complaints.
Additional spaces obtained monetary aid in modernizing amenities and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted artists and concertgoers.
"The concept that revenue from performances in big venues backs the local stages, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just logical," the star has stated.
He is among several artists to give his honor winnings to good deeds.
Back when they received the award in the mid-90s for their album the album, frontman the singer declared that the group would contribute their winnings to the non-profit War Child.
During 2002, rapper and singer Ms Dynamite shared her bounty across multiple good causes, such as the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"Additionally, I contributed a grand to the center, to their gymnastics class, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they needed new equipment," Ms Dynamite told a publication.
Two years ago, the band contributed their prize money to the community center that supported their band, in addition to other local music groups.
And winners that year the group contributed their award to a MS organization after a acquaintance was diagnosed the condition.
"Winning was quite enough," stated vocalist the singer. "The cash was the cherry on top but we could do without the cherry, because we had the honor. So our victory touched another person's life."
Last week, the Music Venues Trust shared it had protected two local spots in the South East, by bringing them into public stewardship.
One venue in that area and the other in that location were bought under the Own Our Venues program, which is funded by a national body and enthusiasts who buy "shares" in the venues.
